If you want a really nice pair of running shoes and lots of options with great service I highly recommend this place. I am a beginner runner and didn't know where to start and Gram helped me try on multiple pairs didn't feel rush and he let me jog on the sidewalk to truly feel how the shoes would feel while running. Other places don't compare to the time they take to make sure you have the right shoes for what you need.

So check this out. One day a scrubby looking homeless woman was standing outside this prestigious footwear establishment and looking at the rack of high quality sneakers outside the front door looking like the kind of person who was about to steal a pair of premium sneakers or at the very least scare away customers who had the means to budget for sneakers like this. If I were in Joan's shoes (pun intended) I would have probably tried to shoo the homeless woman away. As hard as such hypocrisy is for me to admit, that's exactly what I would have done. When the homeless woman (who was carrying a ridiculously huge backpack and a side bag with an explicit word cut out of the letters on a piece of "CAUTION" tape glued to it) selected a pair of $139.99 sneakers and walked into this premium retailer and asked if she could try them on she expected the lady to say yes but rudely, begrudgingly, and with malice. Especially because she knows that any high end retailer of premium products would take one look at the shoes she was already wearing which had the appearance of being filthy and brace themselves for the upcoming stench of whatever socks must be on underneath those things and immediately start feeling resentment towards the homeless woman for putting them in a position to take such a considerable financial loss by asking to try on a pair of shoes that they would inevitably ruin. I'm only saying this because I used to work in shoes similar to Joan's in many ways and I used to have that kind of attitude towards homeless people myself. But Joan showed no signs of prejudice whatsoever even though I can read minds and knew what she was thinking. The quality of her game face was exceeded only by the quality of her genuinely kind and compassionate heart and I was blown away by the outstanding customer service that Joan who has been serving a premium type of clientele for over 20 years in Yakima extended to me as a homeless woman. I am new to Yakima & was thrilled to find a local family business specializing in quality shoes. I had literally hit every sporting goods store & department store in Yakima. There was little to no selection of hiking & trail running shoes and even less knowledge. One of the young people who tried to help me at a mall store didn't even know what they were. Thanks for your help with my new Altra trail shoes & the swap out on the lace color! I'll be back!

Had an amazing experience at Vaux! I have been dealing with some plantar fasciitis. Joan was SO HELPFUL! She spent a good hour with Kim & I as she brought out several pairs of shoes to help me find the best fit. Walked out with to pairs of amazing shoes. Thanks for all your help!!

Phenominal customer service!! The kind you just don't see all that often these days, unfortunately. Rest assured, Joan went above and beyond, to assist me in finding the perfect shoe for my daily work activities. Found Hoka to be a brand everybody loves so I looked for a dealer in town and Vaux had not only a tremendous selection at extremely fair prices but also a variety of other brands to choose from. Highly recommend Vaux far and above any other shoe store in town. Do yourself a favor and visit them 1st before any other store. A+ customer service! Thank you Joan

Amazing service! I have been experiencing lots of pain in my feet due to plantar fasciitis. Vaux Shoes was the right place to go to! I really appreciate the expertise and time they took with me to find the right shoes and the effort made to help me understand what I could do to find relief.
